  3. Everything looks so green and healthy! I have a question (okay, maybe a few) about your last picture. Directly in front of your head is a plant with long green leaves with clusters of white flower heads - is it green onion? I planted root ends of store-bought green onions and they grew just like that, although I don't think my green leaves were as wide as yours. I just cut off the flower heads when I harvested the green onions. Am I supposed to do something with them? Would they have gone to seed if I just let them grow out? Is there any reason why you have green onions (if that's what they are) planted in the middle of your, beans? Thank you!!

  4. Thanks for the compliments!

Yes thyme2garden it is green onion and they will go to seed and self seed like crazy. I dug up about 100 plants from my parents house this spring and they are growing well. I grow all sorts of things together these plants happened to be planted in a pot indoors and then
I took them outside and stuck them at the end of the row. I thought the fava bean was dead but it bounced back and produced some nice beans.

  5. Thanks for your answer! Next time, I will let my green onions grow out and see if I can get them to self seed. 100 green onion plants, wow, that's a lot of onions! They sure do grow well even after getting transplanted, though.
